How did former Chicago cop Jim McGill end up as the first private investigator living in the White House? He married Patricia Darden Grant, the first female U.S. President, shortly after solving the murder of her first husband. Winning the election was one thing, but finding work in Washington was another. McGill decided to work for himself and got a private investigator’s license. It wasn’t exactly a traditional role for the First Gentleman, but McGill wasn’t one to stick to the rules. He even gave himself a new title: The President’s Henchman. His first case? Investigating a stalker targeting a member of the White House press corps.
